Hamburger SV fell on the way back to the Bundesliga. The chief of the second division lost unexpectedly to the candidate of relegation Eintracht Braunschweig with 2: 4 (0: 2). Leon Bell Bell (40th minute), Silvan Hefti’s own goal (41.), Julian Baas (84th) and Rayan Philippe (86th) sealed the HSV’s first home defeat for almost a year. At the same time, it was Braunschweiger’s first victory in Hamburg in 49 years. They leave the relegation location of relegation at least until Sunday.
Davie Selke’s goals (74./90.+5) were too little for the HSV. Despite the defeat, the team of head coach Merlin Polzin remains in first place, since 1. FC Köln could not win the SPVG Greuther Fürth. However, the 1st FC Magdeburg and 1. FC Kaislautern can go to HSV on weekends.
The favorite had difficulties in front of 57,000 spectators in the Stade Folk Park again sold. The braunschweigers courageously played, did not do much to make their backs and tried for offensive campaigns. HSV Polzin coach reacted to the second half and brought three new forces. His team became more important, but their game was not better. Eintracht was even more dangerous: Philippe (54th) hit the transverse bar of the Hamburg door after a counterattack. The HSV gradually woke up and returned by Selkes 18th sizeontor. But the hope only lasted ten minutes: then Baas and Philippe won the perfect Braunschweig victory. Selke’s second goal in additional time was no longer a consolation for the HSV.

The best team of coach Gerhard Struber finally awarded a variety of better chances at the brave Spvgg Greuther Fürth and had to be satisfied with a 1: 1 (1: 1). Cologne could not use the striking error of Hamburger SV.
The Cologne team was able to count against the Franks on their guardian Marvin Schwäbe, who reacted several times. The Rhinelander are second after the 29th match in one point behind the HSV. However, they lacked them temporarily widening their cushion to Magdeburg and Kaiserslautern at seven points.
Noel Futkeu gave the Fürther in front of 15,294 spectators at the twelfth minute with his tenth goal of the season. The Cologne team was able to compensate for a psychologically favorable time before half time with a penalty by Luca Waldschmidt (45th).
