From emergency solution to national actor

AC Milan have extended Matteo Gabbia’s contract by three years. The 25-year-old signed a new working document until June 30, 2029. The local product has experienced an almost meteoric rise this year, tripling its market value to 12 million euros.
In the summer of 2023, Gabbia was loaned to Villarreal FC due to a lack of prospects, but due to major injury problems in the center of defense, the Rossoneri brought him back in early January as an emergency solution. Since then, Gabbia has been an integral part of Milan. He was called up to the Italian national team for the first time last October, but remained unused.
