World champion Paulo Dybala could leave AS Roma for Saudi Arabia a year before the end of his contract. According to consistent media reports, a transfer to Al-Qadsiah FC is in the offing. However, doubts remain as to the progress of the negotiations.
First, journalist Santi Aouna of « (Site notre blog d’information) Mercato » reported that Dybala and Al-Qadsiah had already agreed on a move. The Argentine should therefore benefit from a contract until 2027 and an annual salary of 15 million euros. However, the final details have yet to be clarified. Meanwhile, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, discussions between the clubs are continuing. Roma are said to be still waiting for an official offer from Al-Qadsiah. According to reports, Dybala could have left the Giallorossi by July 31 with an exit clause of 12 million euros – since then, the transfer fee can be freely negotiated.
According to various reports in Italy, Dybala has not yet made a final decision. He wants to think about it more, they say. He is said to have recently rejected an offer from Saudi Arabia that included an annual salary of 20 million euros plus bonuses. On the one hand, he was said to be convinced that he would stay in Rome beyond the summer, and on the other hand, a move to the Saudi Pro League should not be part of his plans at his age.
Dybala joined Roma on a free transfer in 2022 after his contract with Juventus ended. Over the past two years, he has made 77 appearances in which he has scored 34 goals and provided 18 assists. There is talk that his contract with Roma would be automatically extended after 14 games of the new season – then with an annual salary of €7 million.
Dybala’s departure would solve so many problems.
– Wage costs are falling massively.
– This will free up financial resources for construction sites.
– Overpopulation on the right is thwarted.
– Not « can he play, can he not play, does he need protection? » more, but two young, fit players in his place.
– His successors don’t constantly go down to the halfway line to play there, only to then miss the attack. So that creates…
I have already thought about these arguments, but he is and remains THE figurehead and, to be honest, I am just afraid that we will then fall completely into the abyss because I do not know if the GDR will be able to form a team without exceptional players that can compete for international places. Of course, it would be good for the development of Soule and Baldanzi. You could already hear in his interviews that the GDR does not consider Dybala untouchable…
