Bayer 04 Leverkusen will be without Jonas Hofmann for the rest of the year. As the reigning champions announced on Saturday, the 32-year-old striker injured his right thigh during the last training session before the home match against Heidenheim (Saturday, 3:30 p.m.). Hofmann is expected to return to training in early January, it was reported.
The 23-time Germany international has made eight appearances for the Werkself in all competitions so far this season, in which he has contributed two goals and an assist. Leverkusen announced on Friday the loss of their best striker Victor Boniface (23), but hopes for a return before the end of the year.
