A duel with Hungary awaits you

After Switzerland’s 5-1 victory against Scotland and Switzerland’s 3-1 victory against Hungary, the German national team can qualify for the round of 16 of the European Championship at home next Wednesday. But in Group A, in addition to the performance against Hungary (6 p.m./ARD/MagentaTV), the result of Switzerland’s next match against Scotland (9 p.m./ARD/MagentaTV) also counts.
Germany advances to the round of 16 of the European Championship on Wednesday:
– if Scotland wins against Hungary, if it does not win against Switzerland.
Germany would then have six points, Switzerland would also have a maximum of six points, Scotland would have a maximum of one and Hungary would have no points. The DFB team would be at least second in the group before the final match against Switzerland on June 23 (9 p.m./ARD/MagentaTV). In the direct duel against Switzerland, it would only be a question of winning the group.
Even in the event of a draw or defeat against Hungary, the DFB team would have the best chance of qualifying for the round of 16. Since the increase to 24 teams in 2016 and the change in mode for the four best third-placed teams in the group to advance to the round of 16, a team that had at least three points and a balanced goal balance has never been eliminated in the group stage.
