FC Bayern Munich has crossed the billion dollar mark in terms of turnover. Chairman Herbert Hainer presented the record at the annual general meeting, which the German record champions recorded at 1.017 billion euros. “Now we are not only reaching a new record, but also a dimension that even FC Bayern has never reached before,” Hainer emphasized.
The total turnover of FC Bayern Munich from AG, Group and Basketball GmbH was 690 million euros two years ago. At the 2023 annual general meeting, it was 882 million euros. The billion threshold is now exceeded by 17 million euros.
The club, which will celebrate its 125th anniversary next year, has had 360,000 members since the summer – this number continues to increase rapidly. FC Bayern now has 382,000 members. For its 125th anniversary, Hainer already wants to cross the barrier of 400,000 people.
FC Bayern announces new record figures
Chief Financial Officer Michael Diederich cited other record numbers. “The fact that the balance sheet remains free of bank debt allowed us to increase the dividend by 33 percent,” he said. “It’s unique in Europe, it sets us apart and gives us financial flexibility and independence.”
Group profit before tax (EBT) increased by 15 percent to 62.7 million euros. Annual profit increased by 21 percent to 43.1 million euros. This is the second best result in the club’s history, Diederich said.
“In summary, we are recording record numbers everywhere with double-digit growth in all areas,” said the former banker. According to Diederich, equity is at a record high of 571 million and the equity ratio is 55 percent. FC Bayern München AG achieved the second best annual result in the club’s history in the past financial year and once again achieved a record total turnover of 951.5 million euros. Here too, the billion sales barrier is in sight.
In memory of Beckenbauer – No extension of Musiala at the AGM
Sports director Max Eberl was unable to grant Munich fans a contract extension for the annual general meeting in the 2nd Advent. “Nothing will happen,” Eberl said of Jamal Musiala ahead of the event at BMW Park in Munich.
The annual members’ congress was also dedicated to the memory of « Emperor » Franz Beckenbauer, who died earlier this year. His wife Heidi and son Noel were present in the room. The former libero’s number 5 jersey should no longer be allocated.
Musiala, 21, is also expected to become a defining face, if not a legend, in the history of the record champions. The extension of the contract with the best youngster, which expires in mid-2026, is currently the club’s most urgent and highest priority personnel issue, even before the additional commitment of DFB captain Joshua Kimmich (29).
Both must become the club’s « guardrails » for the future, as President Hainer emphasized in his speech. “Jamal once again made the difference yesterday.” We’re working hard on Musiala’s big contract – and Eberl sincerely hopes « we’ll get there at some point. »
