1. FC Nuremberg has recruited one of Greece’s greatest talents. On Thursday, the club announced the departure of Stefanos Tzimas from Greek champions PAOK Thessaloniki. The 18-year-old is on a one-year loan and is expected to mature under former star striker and new FCN coach Miroslav Klose. No purchase option should be included in the transaction.
« We are very happy that Stefanos has decided to play for 1. FC Nuremberg next season and take the next step in his young career here. He had received various offers from European clubs, but thanks to the contacts of Miroslav Klose and Olaf Rebbe, we were able to make this transfer happen,” said sports director Joti Chatzialexiou.
Sports director Rebbe, who worked at PAOK from April 2020 to March 2021 before taking up his position at Nuremberg, added: “Stefanos is the absolute best striker in his age group and we are proud to have been able to convince him of our way. He has everything a true center forward needs: he is quick, two-(Site notre bureau spécialisé)ed and strong in finishing. It is now up to him to prove himself in the club jersey.
Tzimas made his debut in the 2nd League at the age of 16, as well as the Super League and Conference League at 17. In 30 competitive matches with the professionals, he has so far scored five goals and one assist. The striker is now looking forward to his first experience abroad. “I am ready and looking forward to learning a lot from Miroslav Klose and having a successful season with the team.”
