Nico Schlotterbeck is the most precious German defender with a market value of 40 million euros and is under contract with the BVB until 2027. The Dortmund team wishes to extend the contract with its defense manager – according to « sport Bild » information, the new working document will apply until 2030 and will include a salary increase of around 2.5 million euros per season. This would give the national player at least 8 million euros raw per year.
According to estimates, within the BVB, he could rank behind Gregor Kobel, Serhou Guirassy and Niklas Süle, the best player. The latter arrived from FC Bayern in free transfer in 2022 and obtained a contract which will earn him at least 12 million euros per season. By including performance -related bonuses, Schlotterbeck’s salary could continue to increase. « Of course, there is a great appreciation on both sides. But I think, to be honest, that I will not extend my contract so early, » Schlotterbeck said « Bild ».
The 25 -year -old is currently linked, in rumors, to a move to Munich, where he could play at the Center de la Défense alongside his colleague from the DFB Jonathan Tah. It should earn 9 million euros per year in Bayern, much less than central defenders Min-Jae Kim and Dayot Upamecano, who earn around 16 million euros. Upamecano is in the last year of his contract and negotiations with the French have been dragging on for months.
As expected, the opinions of the TM community concerning Schlotterbeck in Munich vary considerably. « S0ULD », user of TM and fan of the BVB, writes: « I think that a transfer to Bayern is very improbable for the moment. Nico could have evolved in better clubs and if you look at our form in recent years, nobody would have criticized him. I have always seen the fact that he has never flirted with a transfer to the record champion and that he has proven himself in the bvb BVB. «

If this transfer materializes, he would be the seventh player to leave Dortmund for Munich. The latest was Raphaël Guerreiro, transferred free of charge in 2023, before that, Mats Hummels in 2016, for whom 35 million euros had been paid.
