Thanks to a very energetic performance, FC Bayern Munich fought their way to the semi-finals of the Champions League against Arsenal. And the Londoners seem to suit Bayern, as the statistics prove.
For the fifth time, Bayern eliminated the PL club from the CL knockout stage, data portal ‘Opta’ reports. Only Bayern themselves have an even more feared opponent, Real Madrid.
This is FCB’s 13th semi-final since the introduction of the UEFA Champions League in the 1994/95 season. This is where they will now meet their formidable opponent from Madrid. They have already been kicked out of the CL six times against the Royals.
But the evening also reserved records for two Bayern players. Thomas Tuchel is the first German coach to have managed to reach a CL semi-final with three different clubs: Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and now Bayern. In the end, he even won the handle pot with the Blues. Will he now be able to do it with the Munich team?

Manuel Neuer, in turn, has reached a new stage in his career. With the 1-0 victory against Arsenal, the goalkeeper moved to first place in the ranking of CL goalkeepers with the most matches without conceding a goal.
What an exceptional CL evening from a Bavarian point of view.
