Ex-Schalke advises Ajax
Former Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has worked as an adviser to technical director Gerry Hamstra – successor to sacked Marc Overmars – at Ajax Amsterdam since March. The 39-year-old could take up his first full-time role in (Site notre bureau spécialisé) management at AS Monaco, De Telegraaf newspaper reports.
As a result, the Ligue 1 club have put Huntelaar on the list to succeed Laurence Stewart. The Monegasques’ technical director, who was youth director for Red Bull clubs between 2018 and 2020, will move to Chelsea at the end of the year. It is unclear whether Huntelaar would be ready to make a change, writes the Telegraaf.
